VOEG mede-ondertekenaar brief aan Europese Commissie
De invoering van strictere financiële eisen aan energiehandelaren kan de handel in electriciteit en gas voor kleinere partijen sterk bemoeilijken. Dit zou desastreus zijn voor de marktwerking. Om deze reden steunt VOEG een brandbrief aan de Europese Commissie over dit onderwerp.
"We are sending this letter, because the possible ‘one size fits all’ approach of financial regulation could force small and medium sized energy companies to significantly scale back their current activities with potentially serious consequences for competition and therefore consumer interests. We are concerned that small and medium sized companies would be exposed to a dramatic and disproportionate increase in capital requirements and increasing trading costs. Hence smaller and medium sized energy companies would face an unintended and unfair disadvantage."
